Millie Jackson
Feeling Bitchy
Spring | 1977

When listening to miss Jackson, can’t help thinking of Jenifer Lewis (The Fresh Prince’s aunt Helen); one baaaaaaaad mama with a biiiiig mouth, explicit humour and an attitude! In ‘All The Way Lover’ Millie gets some sense into her sistas with some damn sarcastic lines, talking her way through, no singing at all!

This is not her best album (probably ‘It Hurts So Good’ or ‘Caught Up’), but I was lookin for it because of the ‘You Created A Monster’ track that was sampled on The Private Invesigators’ fantastic ‘Shy Country Girl’. The opening break on ‘All the Way Lover’ is also great and was once used by the Dream Warriors and a few other artists.

Found this copy right in between Eddie Wally (local crooner) and Christmas Carols part 4. Anyway, anno 2005, Millie has made a comeback and is back with a new album! Power to the sistahs! Check weirdwreckuds.com to see her!
