BIGGEST MOMENT FOR YOU PERSONALLY? BIGGEST MOMENT FOR YOU IN GENERAL? BEST ALBUM(S)? BEST MOVIE(S)? WISHES FOR HIP-HOP IN 2006? WISHES FOR THE WORLD IN 2006? WHAT (RELEASES/PROJECTS) CAN WE EXPECT FROM YOU AND YOURS IN 2006?

J-ZONE
Doing music for a porno and getting a call to submit a song for a Sprint commercial. Both made me realize I can have a career outside of the same old underground rap scene. Finishing the ‘Bo$$ Hog Barbarian$’ album with Celph Titled and getting through 2005 alive. It was a rough year for me in general. Mannie Fresh: The Mind Of Mannie Fresh The only movie I saw that came out in 2005 was Hustle & Flow, so I guess that's it. That it provide me with income. As little hardship as possible. Bo$$ Hog Barbarian$ album with me and Celph Titled droppin in March. Single drops in January. Got beats on Asian Bang, a new porno that just came out. Got beats and remixes for Tha Alkaholiks, Del, A Plus, Vast Aire and others. Background music for TV shows, commercials, etc.

MR COMPLEX
2005 made 10 years since I put out my first record 'I'm Rhymin' 1995 produced by Pharoahe Monch. You can never predict your career especially indie hip-hop. I dropped a heavy album ‘Twisted Mr’ in 2004 that was slept on but kept me busy through 2005 so I put together ‘Plexacade’ to recap the years limited CD available on Fat Beats, Sandbox or mrcomplex.com. That was the biggest moment for me musically. In 2005 I sat back from the rhymes besides I made a hip-hop band called Complex City. But on the film side, I sold a screenplay hopefully it will be made: ‘If I Can’t See You’.   Little Brother, J-Live, Maspyke. Hustle and Flow.     ’Enter The Complex’ DVD and CD compilation soundtrack, ‘Swiss Chocolate Cake’ album, the Complex City album and maybe a Polyrhythmaddicts return.

SANKOFA
Getting together with the beautiful tornado and realizing life is bigger than me. Seeing the Fort Wayne hip-hop scene expand. Edan ‘Beauty and the Beat’ Too many seen, but I'll go with ‘Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang’. A Percee P album, someone to get Kane and Primo in the lab together, the DOC getting his voice back, Eminem retiring from production duties and me finding more dope beats to rock. People to hold leadership and themselves accountable. Another solo album (‘The Tortoise Hustle’) and a side-project with a dirty Blues band under the group name Lenin's Jukebox.

JOEY BEATS
Loving a friend. Going for dolo. Sage Francis – A Healthy Distrust. WHAT????? I don't think I even went to the movies once this year. Pathetic. Less hipters. Less racism. 'Indie Rock Blues' - an uninterrupted flow of remixes by yours truly. Danceable melancholia for the depressed.’Don't Front, I'm Yo Trophy’ - split 7" with Maker on Shake It Records. I'm on the B-side. A ton of other things on the hush hush...

THE WHITE SHADOW
OF NORWAY
When my album was finally released in December on the positive tip. When my cousin who was more like a sister to me died in a car-crash on the negative. This was the best AND worst year for me ever because of those things happening. Same as previous. The White Shadow Of Norway - Renegades, Pumpkinhead - Orange Moon Over Brooklyn, Supastition - Chain Letters
Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge Of The Sith Less artists, less unofficial releases, less bling rap, more quality. That it's still here in 2007. Watch out for my beats and cuts on:
The Pizdamen-Red Stars(January), AOTP-The Torture Papers(March), The Longshots-The Jungle Book, Mic Stylz' upcoming official and remix-albums, Infinito album or remix album, Rusty P's album, Guttamouf Album...
Also I'm working on my Instrumental hip-hop album which might drop in 2006, and hopefully I will be able to produce for some Hiphop-legends and more major label type artists as well as the best in the underground. I will try to elevate, if not levitate my ish in 2006...Happy New Year to everyone! Peace.

MR BRADY
(DEEP ROOTED)
We just did a show with Common on 12-30-05 the show was big. Sold out
crowd at House Of Blues in San Diego. it was a great way to end the year and to start off the new year.
A lot of crazy things happened this year. From the Tsunami to what happened in New Orleans. It was a real tragic year so it made me do a lot of thinking and
reflecting on life because nothing is promised you know. This is a year that I’ll never forget, we lost a lot of good people this year. Richard Pryor, Luther Vandross, Barry White. It’s time to live right you know.
Damn what came out this year (laughs)?! Common probably had one of the albums of the year, no doubt. I didn't go to the movies too much in 2005, I was too much caught up in the
studio. I liked that one movie I think it’s called ‘War of the World’ when people from other planets attacked earth. I like shit like that, makes you think.
That hip-hop, not rap, gets more respect. Bring it back to 93-95 era. It’s so much unhealthy music out there right now that gets pushed to the front. There’s a lot of good music out there that the masses are not getting to hear. The industry is all fucked up right now, that’s why being independent is the best way. All you need is a little distribution and you’re good. Even if you don't have distribution you can still get it out there though. Just respect all music that’s good. Just be more aware. People stop being so selfish and think of more than just
you. It’s bigger than you and me. A lot of changes need to be made if we want
to get on the right path.
New Deep Rooted album title, ‘The Second Coming’ should be dropping in February
on our label Open Myndz Ent. Great production by Mr Brady, Oh No, Jake One, DJ
Artistic and more, with features by Planet Asia, Oh No, Aloe Blacc, Main Flow
and Abstract Rude. Real solid album. Sha Dula (formally of Twelve Jewelz) album will drop this year titled ‘Don Dallas’. Brea’s solo album should drop this year. Real soulful singing shit. Maybe a compilation that I want to do with my beats and other cats rhyming. We are looking to do some big things this year. Check out our Myspace at www.myspace.com/deeprootedent or our website www.openmyndz.com

REEF THE LOST CAUZE
Being featured in XXL magazine. Living to see it. Sean Price – ‘Monkey Barz’, Common – ‘Be’, Beanie Sigel – ‘The Becoming’, Mars Volta –‘Frances the Mute’. ‘King Kong’, ‘40 Year Old Virgin’, ‘The Family Guy’ movie. That it rises from the dead. It sounds gay…but I still say peace on earth would be nice for a while. The new mixtape ‘Long Live the Cauze’, ‘Workmans’ Compilation Vol 2 and a bunch of shit that probably won’t ever see the light of day let alone drop next year so I won’t mention those.

NECRO
Learning more in the business, realizing my mistakes, the jewels I learned from certain books, reaching the next level. Non-stop learning and advancement in my business. The Sexorcist.

Derailed. No more racism. No more wars involving Americans. Expect a lot of shit, can’t announce titles yet, expect sickness!

BRAILLE
(LIGHTHEADED)
Opening a concert for James Brown was one big moment. There were a lot this year, in music and in life in general. God has been good through the big moments and small ones. Me and my wife got our first home. 2005 was such a busy year, it's hard to remember everything that happened. Ohmega Watts "the find" I can't even remember what movies I saw this year. For hip-hop as a culture, I'd like to see hip-hop represented as an art form on a major scale. Right now, rap is the best selling genre, but the artistic aspect of the culture has been over-looked by many people. The dancers, painters, poets and musicians don't seem to get recognized for their artistic talents. So I think some positive press for the ARTform of hip-hop would be good to see. I wish for individuals to know that God loves them and that Jesus truly can set us free. I'm working on two new records titled ‘Box of Rhymes’ and ‘Revolutionary Pen’. I'm also launching my label Hiphop Is Music, so expect to see new albums from Sivion, Sojourn, Surreal and Big Rec!

MR RIDLEY
My daughter being born. Oct. 22nd 2005 Same thing... Cage – Hell’s Winter Kung fu Hustle A thriving community of fans and artists that all support each other. A REAL major recognition of the great music that is being made in the underground hip-hop community. Impeach Bush. Seriously, he's gotta go. 2012 Dynasty will release the Left Handed Scientists album. Hopefully some solo efforts from Ill-Ill, Teal, Tu-Krazy and Souldiers of Fortune.

First off I'm doing a project with producer/rapper Tayo. Then I have my official album coming out and also another project that I can’t let out the bag. COLD CRUSH BROTHERS
The biggest part of 05 for me was Dec 22, my son Onyx was born. In general, going to England for the "Born in the Bronx" showing. My friend Joe Conzo had his picture's of Hip Hop Culture in this show. Nothing really great on the rap tip. ’Mr. and Misses Smith’ was good, love til death. In the year of 2006, I wish that we could get back to loving life and living in peace. As for the world, I wish people would understand what they say do hurt and somebody has to be held accountable for it. In 2006 The Universal Federation for the Preservation of Hip Hop Culture is coming... The pioneers.

FRANK-N-DANK
Touring Europe/ inking distro deal. Being able to be here 4 another year. Too many to name…   More good music from the usuals and some new shit (Frank N Dank) Peace and prosperity ’Extended play’ version 313, spring 2006.

MOJOKING
OF ABSOLUTE POWER
For me personally the year was full of setbacks and problems. But my biggest moment was probably discussing the small details on the album during mix-down. It was when I realized ‘A Vision of Kings’ was no longer just a vision, it was reality. Gotta be hurricane Katrina. I completely ignored the industry this year. Underground sounds though. Sankofa's ‘Still Means Something’, Addek's ‘Hip-Hop 9/11’ of Absolute Power's ‘A Vision of Kings, oh and Rass Kass's ‘Re-Institutionalized’ even if he didn't seem to try hard for the whole album. Got no idea. I was in the lab!!! Wasn't Munich though. Didn't need to sit around for 3 hours to realize no-one wins in death and revenge. A return to actual SKILLS meaning something. As it is even the listeners who aren't brainwashed by the radio are satisfied with ANYONE who isn't all about gun talk. I want talent to shine, innovation, intelligence and creativity!! That the world realizes that no-one wins in death and revenge. Maybe Munich is the best movie after all. ’A Vision of Kings’ is just getting the marketing ball rolling so that will take up most of the year. By the end of 2006, look for the release of Vision's "solo" joint. I'll still be running all thru it, but with Vision solely at the helm, it will likely be even farther away from typical hip-hop then "V.o.K." which is from another planet.

THE ARE
(K-OTIX)
My daughter being born. My daughter being born. Kanye West Did'nt see enough movies to judge. I wish the industry to open it's doors to a more variety of music instead of the same over and over and over. I wish from them to be touched by my music Together Brothers album, Headkrack album, ‘Hustlers Theme Music’ mixtape, the core to a short film titled ‘Clear Blue Skies’, music for clips on NBC, music for a short film done by Echo clothing production on at least 20 artist albums and counting.

Probably the election of the first Mexican mayor in LA ever (Antonia Villariegosa). DangerDoom! The Johnny Cash story! Rebirth! No more Bush family! ’Barried a Lie I was Barried Alive’ !

Hurricane Katrina and The Tsunami were the two stand-out moments for most of the world this year Kanye West - Late Registration, Common – Be, SoulStice - North by Northwest: Solid Ground, AZ – AWOL, Kev Brown - I Do What I Do, Rawkus Records – Decade 1. Lot of good movies this year. I'm biased to the ones that have come out recently but ‘Munich’ was especially well done. More of what we had in 2005 to a large extent. I think this was a really good year for hip hop. Better leadership. More courage to do what's right as opposed to what just preserves the way of life for the top 10%. A mixtape, an album from my group Wade Waters, and possibly a second solo album if the stars align.

I’m way behind in my movies but here are 3 good ones I saw in 2005: ‘Rabbit Proof Fence’, ‘40 Year Old Virgin’, ‘Ray Charles’. That songs like Laffy Taffy cease. Artists need to be artists and stop half stepping and poisoning the culture. I also wish the masses would wake up and stop allowing the media and radio dictate what Hip Hop should be. We all have a responsibility and need to be accountable for our actions. Let’s take back what’s rightfully ours and give the corporate influences the middle finger.
Knowledge, wisdom, understanding, culture-freedom, power,
Equality, God, Build or destroy, born, cipher. PEACE.
